PWN Canada is made up of a group of fabulous women who make it their mission to provide a comfortable and sophisticated atmosphere for you to network and to find inspiring speakers for our PWN Meetings.

 

OUR CO-CHAIRS

Dani Bryant

Co-Chair

Dani is a passionate supporter of women in business. She joined PWN because of the organization’s commitment to providing networking and skills development opportunities to its members. Dani’s focus in the organization includes developing programming and strategic planning. Dani also practices environmental, Aboriginal and corporate social responsibility law at Fasken Martineau’s Vancouver office, sits on the board of directors for the Environmental Youth Alliance and Monster Creative Productions, and enthusiastically volunteers for Dress for Success.

Monique Ronning

Co-Chair

 

Monique started attending Professional Women’s Network events in 2010. Inspired by the diverse membership, motivating presentations, and the entrepreneurial spirit of PWN’s co-founder Michelle Pockey, Monique joined as the organization’s Co-Chair in 2012. Monique is responsible for program development and member engagement, and represents the PWN at the WEB Alliance of Women’s Business Networks. Monique also practices labour and employment at the Vancouver law office of McCarthy Tétrault.

Shamayne Zindoga

Social Media and Events Coordinator

Shamayne joined PWN in 2015 and has been an integral part of the team since. She is passionate about women empowerment in the community and strives to continue to build on this expanding network of amazing and fearless women with allies from every industry.

Jessica Leroux

Media & Public Relations Strategist

Jessica joined PWN in April 2015, and brings with her an extensive marketing background in the non-profit sector. Her role involves public and media outreach, connecting media resources with PWN events and information, and assisting with the drafting and coordination of media strategies, including social media. Jessica is the Communications & Social Media Coordinator in Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP’s Marketing department.

Queenie Chan

Event Coordinator

Queenie has been assisting with the Professional Women’s Network since 2011. She manages monthly event coordination, registrations and communications with members. Queenie is a legal administrative assistant at the Vancouver office of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP.

Erin Bird

Event Assistant

Erin joined PWN this year bringing along her 33 years of law firm experience while working with Fasken Martineau in a variety of administrative areas. From present to past: HR Advisor, HR Manager, Accounting Manager, Trust & Investments Administration and Accounting Services.  Erin is also Chair of the BC Legal Management Association – Human Resources Subsection. In her time off, she loves to travel with family and is a Therapy Dog handler for St. Johns Ambulance. Erin assists with organizing PWN events and registration.

Justine Statham

Research & Development

Justine is a Human Resources professional who is passionate about empowerment and positive organizational change. She joined the PWN team in 2017 and assists with research and overall development of the organization.

Carol May

Project Coordinator

Carol has been involved with the Professional Women’s Network since 2008, serving as a key contact and coordinator for all of our members and ensuring that all member needs are met and inquiries are answered.

Brenda Plowman

Special Events and Expansion

Brenda serves as Chief Marketing Officer at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP. She is past Vice President of Sales & Marketing USA at Hamilton & Spill and Past President of the Legal Marketing Association.

Stephanie Sanger

Past Co-Chair

Stephanie served as co-chair of the Vancouver Chapter of PWN since from 2010 until May, 2014. She has been instrumental in determining and executing the programming for our Vancouver chapter’s monthly meetings. Stephanie is an associate in Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP’s Global Energy group. She is also involved with Ballet BC and with a number of industry and professional organizations including the Canadian Bar Association.

OUR INSPIRATION

Michelle Pockey

(1968 – 2016)

Michelle Pockey co-founded the Professional Women’s Network in 1997, and served as the organization’s National Chair from 1997 until her passing in 2016. While building a successful business law practice at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP, Michelle grew the PWN off the side of her desk. Michelle’s commitment to helping women connect easily and navigate the challenges faced by female professionals in advancing their careers continues to inspire the PWN team.
